How do I send ETH to my Catalyst wallet?

To fund projects on Catalyst, you will need to have ETH tokens on your account. This page outlines how to send to your Catalyst Wallet, or purchase ETH if you don't have any.

Options for sending ETH to Catalyst

1. Send ETH from another wallet or Centralized Exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.)

2. Send ETH from an existing wallet on Ethereum Mainnet to Base

3. Send fiat currency to Catalyst with your bank account or credit card

Send ETH from another wallet or Centralized Exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.)

If you have:

• ETH on a Base (Ethereum Layer 2) wallet

• ETH on on a centralized exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.)

Here's how to send ETH to your Catalyst wallet:

Step 1: Copy your Catalyst wallet address by clicking the top right button

Step 2: Click the double-squares next to the wallet address. This will copy the address to your clipboard.

A video on how to send ETH from Coinbase to your Catalyst wallet. Make sure to paste the address from Step 1&2 as the "Send ETH to" wallet.

Step 3: Once copied, send ETH to this wallet address when prompted to do so by your Base wallet or when withdrawing from an exchange like Coinbase.

Catalyst operates on the Base. Don't send your funds to Ethereum mainnet. If you do have ETH on a wallet on Ethereum mainnet, see the section: Send ETH from Ethereum Mainnet to Base.

Send ETH from an existing wallet on Ethereum Mainnet to Base

If you have ETH on an Ethereum Mainnet wallet, you can bridge that ETH to Base and send it to your Catalyst wallet by performing the following steps:

1. Try contribute ETH to a project. You should receive a dialogue saying you have insufficient ETH.

   1. You can also click the button in the top right hand corner of the app (0x...).

2. Click the button that says Bridge ETH from L1

3. Connect your Mainnet (L1) wallet

4. Input how much ETH you want to send

5. Click Deposit ETH

6. Wait ~10 minutes and your ETH should arrive in your Catalyst wallet on Base

Send fiat currency to Catalyst with your bank account or credit card

If you don't have ETH on an exchange or wallet, you can still purchase ETH and send it to Catalyst using Moonpay. To get your money into Catalyst, perform the following steps:

1. Click the button in the top right hand corner of the app (0x...)

2. Click the button that says Purchase Base ETH with Moonpay

3. Follow the instructions there to put in your bank or card details and your ID.
